Array Telepresence demonstrating Equal-i Technology at InfoComm 2014

We recently debuted the Array’s Equal-i technology at InfoComm in Las Vegas on June 18th-20th. How was it received? The response was amazing! Our booth was hammered from 9:10 AM on Wednesday and busy until the show closed. We scanned 483 visitors but even our “scanning ninja” was having trouble keeping up with the crowds when we were 3-6 people deep during periods with visitors crushing in for cell phone pictures and video. We scanned 233 on Wednesday, 159 on Thursday, and a respectable 91 on Friday. We estimate that 85% were systems integrators, Pro-AV, visual collaboration architects, and consultants. About 15% were Fortune 5000 enterprise customers interested in potentially upgrading hundreds of rooms to Equal-i, 2% videoconferencing vendor or potential OEM partners, and 2% Government & Military, and 1% University. Not bad for a 1st year exhibitor!

We had most of the tier one systems integrators stop by and hundreds of potential resellers, systems integrators, and visual conferencing architects visit. We had numerous Fortune 500 enterprises that had a variety of use cases including one organization that just came to end of life on 18 Halo Rooms, replaced them with traditional PTZ videoconferencing systems and the end-users hate the experience after having been spoiled by Halo.

The most sophisticated and discerning audience of visual collaboration professionals in the world had the opportunity to study Equal-i Technology.

We hosted the most sophisticated audience of Pro-AV professionals in the world: Multiple videoconferencing CEOs, Product Managers, Videoconferencing and Telepresence Program Managers for Fortune 100 enterprises, world-class systems integrators, and visual collaboration architects.

What was the response? “Shut Up and Scan My Badge!on more than one occasion! Mostly we got stunned disbelief… then we would explain how the image improvement worked and Equal-i’s dramatic capabilities and then the discussion would turn to specific use cases. We identified hundreds of rooms that organizations are interested in upgrading to Equal-i technology: 32 rooms with SMART Boards & Lync, 18 Rooms that use to be HP Halo Rooms, 60 traditional videoconferencing rooms that are eligible this year for technology refresh, etc.

Array Demonstrated Equal-i Technology spread over dual Samsung Curved LED Displays put together to form a radical curve for immersive telepresence

We were showing Array on dual 65″ Samsung Curved HD Displays. The curve on a single screen is not that much but when put together with another curved display the curve is more pronounced and the experience is ideal for immersive telepresence. You can also see Array’s Reference Design for a front system to hold dual displays at the ideal height and aspect ratio.

Array is recruiting some of the world’s most sophisticated enterprise video networks and systems integrators into the Array Early Access Program. Do you have an interesting application for Array?
